What a superb day filled with people that, for a photographer, were so interesting making for some terrific photographs. Sam and Shane, both training to become accountants, couldn’t have been more lovely. Without gushing to the point of making you feel nauseous, this day is how all wedding days should go. What do you get when you cross 76 graduates in Occupational Therapy with Podiatrists? Actually and without sounding like a pro suck up, you get a collection of intelligent people that know how to let their hair down and have fun all without descending into a mass brawl. I felt that my camera gear was safe on this night. How it came about though was that Nikki took a call from Emma, the main co-ordinator at The George Hotel in Huddersfield and a venue we’ve worked at before, but photographing weddings and not Uni Graduations balls. Sunday, June 5th 2011, delicious day around Huddersfield…not too hot, no rain until the evening and a good dog walking day. So with dogs in tow off I went. One of the districts in Huddersfield (sound exotic?), not quite the same as a Canton in Switzerland, anyway this district…it’s called Dalton Bank. Dalton Bank has a nature reserve and surprisingly it’s called Dalton Bank Nature Reserve. Anywho…two dogs, an overweight Durham lad and a plod through the countryside – lovely.
