The weather people were forecasting rain but Saturday came and went and drizzle was all we saw and that lasted only moments. That didn’t matter to us as we were going to be mostly inside providing the wedding photography and bridal hair and make-up.
Sam and Shane found us through an internet search and we got on like a house on fire from the moment we met. During our first meeting we discovered that they loved our style and for us, we were going to be photographing a wedding in our home town of Huddersfield. At the Cedar Court Hotel just off junction 24 of the M62. Nice and local.
The wedding was intimate and filled with people any photographer would love to get their lens around. One chap had a head of hair supporting two mohicans and a lady had the most incredible Goth boots on and was surprisingly camera shy.
Toward the end of the evening Nikki and I wanted to photograph Sam & Shane for some intimate portraits but by this time the rain really was coming down outside, so where to go? We chose the stairs leading up to the reception room and typically, probably not a location you’d automatically think of. So with Sam and Shane in tow we kept the time to a minimum as the disco was about to get underway and a few moments later had a card full of intimate portraits.
A few days after the wedding Sam and Shane took themselves off to a much warmer climate…Cuba, lucky beasts and by all accounts, the honeymoon was superb.
Sam, Shane…Nikki and I wish you all the best for the future. To see more from their wedding click here.
